Why is Harjeet a fuckwit?

The most awesome "Killer Pink" photographed at Hongdae and posted on FeetManSeoul.

Okay, I'm writing a post about Paris Hilton's visit to Korea for my other blog when I had the misfortune of reading this crap.

Why Are Paris And Beyonce In South Korea?
By: Harjeet Mander on Thursday 08th Nov 2007

Paris Hilton and Beyonce Knowles are both in South Korea, but what are they doing there together?

According to reports the heiress is in the country to film an advert for sportswear brand Fila.

Her schedule is jam packed with autograph sessions and TV appearances, before she presumably jets off the save the elephants in India? Her words not ours.

As for bootylicious Beyonce, well she's hit the far east to play two shows on Friday and Saturday at the Olympic Gym in Seoul. Will she adhere to their strict dress code? We hope not.

This is my thing, Harjeet, either you've NEVER been to South Korea or you haven't been to South Korea in the last 10 years.

It's common knowledge that young and fashionable Korean women will run around in mini-skirts in the freezing cold just for the sake of looking good. If anything, there is an unspoken dress code of suffering for the sake of fashion or for the sake of looking good. The one time I matched my girls, wore heels and ran around Seoul, my feet were in hell for the next few days after that silly decision.

So let me ask, what dress code are you talking about Harjeet? Actually, let me be more specific, which damn Asian country are you talking about? They're most definitely NOT all the same.

Just in case you question my knowledge, here are some links:

Harjeet, do your research before writing such stupidity or else be ready to get clowned.

Okay, enough said and off to finish that blog on Paris.

  1. I think Harjeet is even a bigger dimwit than you realize, confusing China and Korea. Beyonce, as far as I know, had to follow a dress code in China. I'm curious to know where the girls will get dragged and who the lame-os are who will be doing the dragging. They're out there somewhere, so I have a chance. Kinda like the time I ran into Sweetbox in Itaewon...

  2. Actually, you're probably right about that. I was going to go see her tonight, but I've had a cold all week and I can't rationalize paying $150 to see her while having to wipe my nose during the whole show. That's just not my idea of fun.

I also heard that she either canceled or agreed to dress more demurely in one of the southeast Asian countries as not to offend. However, it really does irk me when I read stuff like this because it's same as people assuming I'm a good dancer or that I can sing because of the color of my skin.

Yeah, well, I'll be featuring a pic of poor Paris stuck between two suits on my other blog. I had to rush out of my office and I'll finish that post when I finally get home. Now I'm in Myeongdong on yet another shopping spree. Anyway, Paris looks great, but they look hilariously out of place. At least she got in the bibimbap compliment ;)

  3. Hey Expat Jane
Yeah I believe the country was Malaysia for Beyonce, don't quote me on that but I was at another blog called PopSeoul and some of those people are just downright stupid and ignorant. One had the audacity to say that Beyonce wasn't selling out because Koreans don't like black people and I am like you idiot how about maybe some can't afford the tickets, has nothing to do with color just plain dumb. I swaer some people will make you lose it in the worst way.

  4. The fools commenting about this on PopSeoul are no only ignorant but they're WRONG. Some Koreans most definitely have race issues, but they LOVE Beyonce. I'm the one picking on her by commenting about lace front wigs and cracking jokes. It's my Korean friends who are all hurt when I go into hater mode ;) But this is Olympic Park and the venue is HUGE and it's EXPENSIVE.

I was talking about going with a few people one of who works for the Seoul Club and she said the concerts there rarely, if ever, sell out. A quote from her "...is it at jamshil? they never sell out." I'll take her word for it since the Seoul Club is a social club and she'd know.

Speaking of hate, these fools are just haters and the net is full of those.

Yep, those Korean racists make my life so hard here. I rarely even bother with blogs that attract that kind of energy and I cast them off when they try to prowl around here. (Saying that might get me into trouble, but I don't want traffic for the sake of traffic. Too many nutjobs.)

Don't let the fools get to you. Bey isn't.

  5. Yup, Malaysia has a large muslim population and they have strict dress codes for entertainers. G.NA (Korean singer, known for showing off her body) wore skinny jeans instead of her usually minidress, when she performed there.

  6. Yeah, he got the country wrong. I still just hate it when bloggers or any writers, for that matter, don't do their research. :)

    Thanks for your comment.
